有木有将Vcenter安装在集群中1台ESXi主机上的？
如题了，实在是不想再多买一台服务器了，据说将Vcenter装在ESXi上还可以 利用Vsphere的HA功能。不知道有没有人用过。 本帖最后由 zsustar 于 9-13-2011 15:57 编辑可以滴，很多人也这么做。下面是官方文档说的好处：
You can install vCenter Server in a Microsoft Windows virtual machine that runs on an ESXi host.
Deploying the vCenter Server system in the virtual machine has the following advantages:
*Rather than dedicating a separate server to the vCenter Server system, you can place it in a virtual machine running on the same host where your other virtual machines run.
*You can provide high availability for the vCenter Server system by using vSphere HA.
*You can migrate the virtual machine containing the vCenter Server system from one host to another, enabling maintenance and other activities.
*You can create snapshots of the vCenter Server virtual machine and use them for backups, archiving, and so on.
不过要注意其他host可以通过client直接访问，以免你的vCenter的VM挂了。另外，vCenter所依赖的SQL和AD也要注意，vCenter 5要4G的RAM了，够吃资源的。

额 杯具 。我还打算在2G的上面跑跑呢 2G可以啊，没什么问题的。 个人不太建议vCenter在ESXi内。 建议还是安装在一台物理机器上面，不光是性能问题，这台机器的备份和管理也比较清楚，遇到问题不至于影响全局 仔细看了一下，VMware vSphere 5.0里有个vCenter的OVF，呵呵，原来是这样啊，那还是装在ESXi里面吧。 可以的 完全没问题。长远地看，VC肯定会做成一个很方便的OVF文件供下载导入后直接使用，由于操作系统版权问题，现有的基于LINUX的VC还等完善。把VC做在VM中，可以考虑在DRS中设置不迁移，这样VC有问题时直接通过固定的ESXI访问即可。 可以放在ESX里面，不过不建议放到自己的ESX里面，放其他机器可以的 {:6_269:} 可以，不过我告诉你，如果你的那台ESXI主机宕机，而恰好你vcenter在上面，就over了，可能有人会问，开启了HA ，可以故障切换啊，不过不要忘了，你的ESXI机挂了， vcenter肯定也会马上挂掉，而HA是以vcenter为基础条件建立和管理的，vcenter都挂了，HA怎么运行，还自动切换个屁，所以建议vcenter单独装，如果非要，建议双机热备，建心跳网络。 我现在也是这么干的
不过打算以后建两个故障转移群集 然后vc互相部署在对方群集上 应该会好很多
并且考虑vdp也互为部署 这样应该会安全很多
但是就怕太过复杂的话 故障的概率可能会上升
大家有什么更好的想法？
