思科路由器数据长度较大时ping不通

我在做IP分片的实验，链路上最小的MTU是700，我发送长度为800的数据包时显示是可以ping通的：
R1#ping 192.34.5.1 size 800 source 192.34.4.1

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 800-byte ICMP Echos to 192.34.5.1, timeout is 2 seconds:
Packet sent with a source address of 192.34.4.1
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 44/80/200 ms

但是发送大小为900的数据包时就不通了，显示超时：
R1#ping 192.34.5.1 size 900 source 192.34.4.1

这是什么情况啊，很急很急，在线等。。。
